Telensa has enhanced its PLANet SmartGrid street light control system by adding an on-board GPS module and the new NEMA 7-pin connector to its telecell options.
Transurban recently partnered with Virginia Tech Transportation Institute on their automated and connected vehicle technology road test on the 95 Express Lanes in Northern Virginia.
The ten-mile test, part of the Virginia Automated Corridors and Virginia Connected Corridors initiatives, was conducted by the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute, the Virginia Department of Transportation, and Transurban, which operates the Express Lanes.

Crown International has been awarded a US$547,000 (£375,000) contract by Balfour Beatty to supply and install variable height dual unit enabled PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) masts, as part of the Smart Motorways project on the M5. The masts will be used between Junctions 2 and 4a and will be delivered in 2016. Forty-six PTZ 15 metre masts are to be installed along the M5. As part of the MTA’s ongoing commitment to improving safety across all agencies and in coordination with New York City’s Vision Zero plan, MTA New York City Transit has begun to test new technologies aimed at improving safety for drivers, bus customers and pedestrians. The 60-day tests of pedestrian turn warning and collision avoidance systems will determine if a full pilot of one or both systems can proceed in 2016.
