As part of its integrated Smart City solutions for more efficient transportation operations, 134 Telvent will use the ITS Annual Meeting and Expo to present on the benefits of an Integrated Corridor Management (ICM) approach. During its Integrated Future Panel presentation, being held on Monday, May 21, 2012 from 4 – 5:30 pm, Tip Franklin, director of business development, will present on ICM, a system which utilizes advanced traveller information, multi-agency communication, and real-time data collection and dissemination. The solution allows transportation agencies to accurately analyse and manage traffic, improve travel times, alert the public of traffic conditions and promote other transportation mode options.

With declining government spending and an increasing drive for a more integrated transportation network, departments of transportation at all levels of government are being pushed to work together closely. A synergistic approach not only stretches small operating budgets more effectively, but also allows operators to plan in advance for factors that might affect them. Coordinating communication across multiple departments and jurisdictions can be a daunting challenge. Telvent says its Integrated Corridor Management (ICM) is a unique solution that improves mobility through efficient operation of the transportation network and city resources. It provides the comprehensive structure necessary to foster information-sharing and coordination across multiple government agencies. The solution is part of Telvent’s complete suite of SmartCity solutions that promote more efficient operations and uses of urban resources which will be highlighted at the company’s booth along with the company’s SmartMobility solutions.
