A tale of two countries: we were delighted to receive delegations of visitors from United Arab Emirates and South Korea this week. They visited CARTES SECURE CONNEXIONS 2014 to enjoy the multitude of exhibits at the global event for payment, identification and mobility. There was certainly plenty to see: UAE is this year’s CARTES Country of Honour and a number of Korean companies were represented in the halls at Paris-Nord Villepinte. And there was much to celebrate as well: on Monday night, in a glittering ceremony at the Salle Wagram in Paris, Emirates Identity Authority won the SESAMES Award in the Identification / ID Cards / Health / E-Government category with the UAE National ID Authentication Service.

The National Validation Gateway is a key programme that supports e-Government in the UAE. It provides trust services to all organisations and government agencies by providing real-time identity verification, validation, multi-factor user authentication capabilities and digital signatures for digital transactions using the National ID Card.
