7523 Spire Payments has announced it is to launch five new payment solutions at next week’s CARTES SECURE CONNEXIONS 2014 in Paris. The first of these, SPm2 and SPm20, provide chip and PIN mPOS solutions for diverse mobile card acceptance environments ranging from micro merchants through to tier 1&2 retail. The next, the SPc5 (countertop) and SPg7 (GPRS mobile) devices, are both aimed at emerging markets. And finally, the SPu90 delivers a universal self-service card acceptance solution for unattended environments. Spire has come a long way in just three years: created in 2011 as a result of the divestiture of the UK and Spanish entities of Hypercom Corporation, Spire was confirmed in the 2013 Nilson Report as the third largest POS Vendor in Europe. Led by CEO and President Kazem Aminaee, the company has created a new line of Linux-based POS terminals, the first to be certified according to the latest PCI, EMV and contactless standards, and expanded its commercial coverage to 22 countries. “Following 2013, where Spire Payments made a grand entrance at CARTES by showcasing our ground-breaking SP range of payment solutions, we have continued to invest heavily and expand the range,” said Aminaee. “The net result is a comprehensive range of payment solutions for all environments. We have much to talk to the industry about, so we wanted to create an outstanding showcase to do just that.” The company’s stand will feature live demonstrations, as well as presentations from technology partners. Spire serves market segments ranging from finance and retail to hospitality and transportation.
