732 Skyline Products will soon be installing the largest ITS-grade, full-colour, LED Dynamic Message Sign (DMS) in the US. The Colorado DOT will use the sign as part of its I-70 speed harmonisation pilot to manage traffic  between mountain ski destinations and Colorado.

The first phase of the programme consists of an overhead walk-in DMS and a supplementary shoulder-mount front-access DMS. With a display area of 203 square feet, the 36-feet-wide sign features over 47,600 pixels at 20mm spacing. It will be able to display full MUTCD graphics which will include 5ft x 4ft speed limit signs over each of three traffic lanes with visibility from eight traffic lanes. The should-mount DMS is smaller but has the same colour and graphics capabilities as the overhead sign.
