“Issues such as network security, video compatibility, network bandwidth and the ability to scale have prevented agencies from sharing video that would enhance traffic management, emergency response, public safety and public awareness,” explained Brent Isenberg, Skyline business development. “OneView enables a level of sharing that has not been there before.”
Alpha Technologies, a leading supplier of power solutions for ITS and traffic applications, is here at the ITS World Congress Detroit to introduce the PowerAgent Remote Battery Management System to provide real-time measurement and control of batteries at ITS sites.
Signpost Solutions is showing its new Optimast range of passively safe sign masts. The range is constructed from round aluminium extrusions in five standard dimensions – 102mm, 127mm, 168mm, 219mm and 244mm, which allows standard fixings diameters and post caps to be used.
B-Riders (www.b-riders.nl) is the first project ever to closely follow a large group of bike users (2,500 participants) over a long period of time – one year. A highly innovative bike tracking system was developed, and implemented, featuring an app that automatically registers all trips 24/7. The system then autonomously analyses trips and assigns them into categories - foot, car, public transport or bike.
Toyota is giving attendees at the 2014 ITS World Congress a preview of its Cooperative ITS initiative, an effort to build automated driving technology that notifies drivers of real-time information captured through communications between vehicles and with sensors installed on roadways.
