Singapore makes pitch for 2019 ITS World Congress

ITS Singapore has a strong delegation at 2014 ITS World Congress in Detroit and has bid to host the 2019 World Congress, which has never been held in Southeast Asia.

7873 ITS Singapore has a strong delegation at 2014 ITS World Congress in Detroit and has bid to host the 2019 World Congress, which has never been held in Southeast Asia.

“Singapore has always been a test bed for new technology, including ITS,” said Chew Hock Young, chief executive of Singapore’s Land Transport Authority.

“Hosting the World Congress will allow us to showcase our great companies and ITS applications to the rest of the world.”

If selected, the delegation will demonstrate the world’s first electronic road pricing by satellite and focus the show on developing the next generation of ITS leaders.
