SolarSign is a solar powered Dynamic Messaging Sign (DMS) system with full range capabilities for large scale displays on major highways in both rural and urban locations. The solar power system allows signs to be erected where needed without placement being dictated by access to power and the signs can display travel times, warnings and awareness signs.
The NTCIP compliant company uses the latest LEDs which are 30-50% more efficient than traditional LED’s and eliminate the need for a cooling system therefore reducing both power consumption and maintenance costs. An optional power and temperature monitoring system provides real-time feedback to eliminate operational uncertainties regarding the power supply.
Swarco Traffic Americas has introduced its third generation of optic LED dynamic message signs (DMS) to the North American market. The third generation signs deliver contrast ratios more than double the NEMA TS4 requirement and are said to use a fraction of the power consumed by its competitors’ signs.
SES America’s energy efficient M6000 series of dynamic messaging signs, which require no cooling or ventilation systems, has received full approval for application on the Georgia highway system.
The M6000 comes in assortment of sizes and is available in both colour and amber with the latter offered in solar or mains power versions.
The Florida Department of Transportation has added SES America’s single line, full colour embedded digital message sign (DMS) to its list of TERL-approved products. Designed for installation on highway projects, the embedded DMS can display standard characters in both 300mm and 460mm heights in a variety of Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Displays-compliant colours and is suitable for applications including variable toll rates
Telegra has gone to unusual lengths to demonstrate the sealing of its Nextgen series of variable message signs – and has immersed a working panel in a water column on its stand. Sealed to IP67/MENA 6 standard, the panels use groups of three single-coloured LEDs with the light output shaped by a bespoke lens system to enable a wide gamut of colours to be displayed on the signs.
