Registration open for REAAA Conference in Malaysia

The joint organisers of the Road Engineering Association of Asia & Australasia (REAAA) Conference, which will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 26 to 28 March 2013, have announced that registration is now open on the event website - www.14reaaaconf2013.com. The theme of the event is The Road Factor in Economic Transformation, the focus of which will be on the development and maintenance of an efficient road infrastructure to meet the demands for sustainable economic growth in developing countries. The organisers report that an overwhelming 150 abstracts encompassing a multitude of topics from potential presenters worldwide have been received and are being currently evaluated for selection. Three plenary, five technical sessions and six workshops are on the cards including an exhibition on the latest products and professional services related to the road industry.

A concurrent added value event of significant benefit to delegates held simultaneously with this conference will be the 12th International Construction Week (ICW) - an annual programme of the Ministry of Works, Malaysia and organised by the 6430 Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB).

An added attraction just a couple of days ahead of the conference is the Malaysian Formula 1 Grand Prix which will be held at Sepang International Circuit from 22 to 24 March 2013.

The conference is jointly organised by all the relevant public sector departments tasked with road infrastructure development and the non-governmental organisations (NGOs) grouping the Malaysian road engineering fraternity such as the Ministry of Works, Public Works Department, Construction Industry Development Board, Malaysian Highway Authority, Road Engineering Association of Malaysia, Intelligent Transport System Association of Malaysia, Road Engineering Association of Asia & Australasia and the Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation (Malaysian Branch).
