Jack Lu, CEO of PAX Global, and Gilberto Novaes, regional sales director, offer some thoughts on new markets and the challenges of integrating online and offline payment solutions

Q Can you give us a brief outline of PAX Technology’s business priorities?
A PAX, over the next three years, will focus on expanding market share in emerging markets to become the indispensable, leading POS terminal provider.

Q Are there any sectors or territories you would like to move into?
A We will strengthen our sales presence and distribution network in Brazil, Russia, Indonesia and India.

Q Are you revealing any new products or services at CARTES?
A We are focusing on promoting our mPOS series at CARTES 2014. With the continuous development of wireless internet, the mobile payment terminal market will continue its rapid expansion.

Q What are the two biggest challenges facing the secure connections industry today?
A  Today, the rapid development of the internet has dramatically changed the way people and communities interact, so it is important to provide securely-integrated online and offline payment solutions. This trend will encourage traditional payment to shift to intelligent and cloud services.

Q If you have time, what CARTES events will you try to visit yourself?
We will be looking out for Visa and Mastercard in the conference programme, listening to their voice and views on payment security technology.
