PAX Technology highlights S920 pocket-sized payment terminal

Secure electronic payment terminal provider PAX Technology will be showing off its popular mPOS terminals and newly- launched S920 pocket-sized payment terminal during CARTES 2014.

The products are already proving popular in Brazil with shipments set to reach 300,000 units. “Orders never stop,” comments Gilberto Novaes, sales director at PAX. “Our success brings us around two new big clients per month.” Customers are responding to the embedded technology (contactless, EMV, PCI, SRED) of the D180 and D200 together with their communication options (GPRS, Bluetooth and WiFi), he adds. The new, lightweight model S920 is designed for the hospitality and restaurant industry, and offers portability and ease of use in those environments. Its wireless connectivity options include 4G, 3G (WCDMA), WiFi and Bluetooth. The S920’s sister POS terminals, including the S200, S300, S500, S800, S900, will also be on show at CARTES. They operate on a secure and flexible platform, featuring built-in contactless / NFC, PCI PTS 3.x including SRED and are equipped with high speed ARM 11 processors and large colour screen displays. PAX emphasises that its products carry comprehensive industry certifications including PCI PTS, SRED, EMV, Contactless NFC, MasterCard PayPass, Visa payWave, American Express ExpressPay, Discover Zip and Apple’s MFi (Manufactured for iOS).
