Oney Banque Accord, the banking arm of French supermarket chain Auchan, has been showing off Flash ‘N Pay, its innovative QR code-based mobile wallet solution at the CARTES 2013 Smart Shopping Zone.

Flash ‘N Pay is a multi-channel virtual wallet designed “by retailers for customers” to save customers time and offer a range of benefits from archived digital receipts to vouchers and special offers. It enables shoppers to buy in store and online by simply pointing their phones to specially generated QR Codes. The application can be loaded with the details of multiple payment and loyalty cards and works with Apple OS and Android and on tablets as well as mobile phones.

Flash ‘N Pay offers retailers a mobile wallet solution that is independent of the banks and the telecoms networks, giving them full control over their data. The service is already in use in 127 Auchan stores in France as well as stores in Portugal and Luxembourg.
