Fast forward to this ITS World Congress 2014 and the company has substantially increased its global footprint. With tens of thousands of its innovative lowering devices installed worldwide, MG Squared’s Martin Maners is convinced they are still at the tip of the proverbial iceberg. Maners notes, “reports indicate theUS$20 billion global surveillance market will grow at a CAGR of around 14% through 2017. Even if only 20% of the cameras referenced in the forecast utilised the maintenance saving lowering device, our future sales would dwarf the solid numbers we have been posting year after year.”
One recently added country to the MG Squared resumé is Qatar where the transportation authority has begun to rapidly invest in ITS deployment. The cameras to be used throughout Qatar’s roadways are being placed on camera lowering devices. These systems greatly enhance the safety, ease and speed that cameras can be maintained and cleaned in the rugged desert environment in that Gulf Region. As of August 2014, MG Squared has made claim to the first camera lowering devices installed in Qatar - the first project of many in the Qatar-MG Squared pipeline began with over 100 lowering devices on 15m poles.
The company suggest that delegates interested in “Lowering Down Time & Raising Performance” within any of their structure mounted surveillance camera applications, would do well adding their footprints in front of the MG Squared booth.
Navtech Radar will be showcasing its new CTS350-X long range radar, the latest unit in its ClearWay automatic incident detection radar system, at Intertraffic Amsterdam 2014.
ClearWay is an all-weather radar system which provides a way of automatically detecting incidents, including stopped vehicles, people and debris on strategic roads, bridges and in tunnels. Advanced tracking algorithms are combined with an enhanced, more user-friendly graphical user interface which features fully actuated intersection detection, traffic data collection, and a mini-TMC capability which uses digital pan/tilt/zoom capability for intersection surveillance.

The Borum stand at Intertraffic Amsterdam 2014 promises to be a busy place. The company says Borum partners from all over the world will be there to provide professional advice on line marking equipment. And the company will be unveiling some innovations for mounting on all of its machines, including a bead alarm (a sensor mounted on the bead gun to detect a stop of bead flow and provide an alarm) and an air dryer for a bead tank which Borum says is especially useful in areas with a high level of humidity.
