Manila to extend metro line 1

RATP Group subsidiary RATP Dev has been awarded a 20-year contract with the Manila LRT 1 consortium to support operations and maintenance of Manila metro line 1.

4223 RATP Group subsidiary RATP Dev has been awarded a 20-year contract with the Manila LRT 1 consortium to support operations and maintenance of Manila metro line 1.

Launched in 1984, Manila metro line 1 is the first light metro system in the Philippines. The 20 kilometre line provides over 170 million passengers per year with north-south transport and is currently undergoing work to extend it by to 30 kilometres with 29 stations by 2018.

RATP group will also provide its expertise to the extension in terms of operations, equipment and infrastructure maintenance, as well as training of local personnel.

    The concession to build Panama City's metro line No. 2 has been awarded to a consortium comprised of Brazilian company Norberto Odebrecht and Spanish infrastructure giant FCC. The 22 kilometre long elevated line will connect the city's northern and eastern sectors and line No. 1. The consortium, known as Consorcio Línea 2, offered US$1.86 billion for civil works, US$50.7 million for maintenance works, and US$214 million for financing, totalling roughly US$2.2bn, according to Metro de Panama.

    Keolis begins first section of metro system in Hyderabad, India
    Keolis has begun operating the first section, 30km, of a new automated metro system of Hyderabad, Telangana State, South East India. The project, launched by the Telangana government, will run across a 68km network of three lines and 65 stations in the next few years.
