Lazio to take part in Pilot4Safety road safety scheme

The Italian region of Lazio is to take part in the European Community's Pilot4Safety road safety pilot scheme. The regional authorities will apply European guidelines when managing the rural road network that will include analysing current safety levels, carrying out inspections and performing project management work. The results of the scheme will be pooled to improve expert safety training at an experimental level.

    German company Vitronic and its subsidiary Vitronic Baltica together with the Latvian company SIA Komerccentrs DATI Grupa have won a tender for 130 speed enforcement systems to be deployed throughout Latvia. 100 systems will be operated in 160 stationary housings, while 30 units will be used for mobile speed enforcement.

    The Northern Capital Highway (NCH) consortium has been named the preferred bidder in the tender for the central section of St Petersburg’s Western High-Speed Diameter (WHSD) project.
