147 Vitronic will use the ITS World Congress Detroit 2014 to showcase the next- generation of the company’s LIDAR-based traffic enforcement. The company says the new system builds on the best-in-class measurement technology of the revolutionary PoliScan product line and can be applied to a variety of enforcement scenarios, such as speed enforcement, red light enforcement, and tailgating. According to Vitronic, the new system has already proven its capabilities by outperforming competition in a recent tender in Abu Dhabi, which included a roadside test comprised of over 20 enforcement and violation scenarios across up to six lanes simultaneously.
Also on display will be the latest generation of the TollChecker flexible free-flow tolling platform. The technology can be applied on highways as well as rural roads or for road user charging in urban environments. It is also used for auditing existing or projected tolling systems.
Delegates to the ITS World Congress are also invited to a presentation by Vitronic on flexible tolling technology within the Road User Charging Session 4 on Wednesday morning, September 10th. The presentation (Session #13402) is titled“The ‘F’ Factor - Not Only Smart But Flexible Synergies Of Traffic Control And Management Systems.”
The e-Vignette system of collecting and controlling road user charges has the advantage of simplicity while achieving high compliance from drivers, says service provider AGES. The electronic vignette has superseded the paper vignette as a convenient and faster service without the expense of printing and distributing physical authorisation for road use. Vignette road charging services are time based, requiring neither costly on-board equipment nor interaction with roadside infrastructure. The e-Vignette is i
An array of advanced LED safety solutions is available from Asya Traffic Signalling. These solar powered safety systems are designed for multiple installations, with the Urban Speed Warning System featuring high performance reflective materials for maximum conspicuity and a low weight of just 19kg for ease of installation and portability.
Company will use Intertraffic Amsterdam 2014 to highlight its tempered glass road studs. The company says its Siglite has the highest compressive strength in the world – over 40 tons for A class and over 60 tons for AA class. Another claim for the product is that it has the highest impact strength in the world - under tests to CNS13762, the test standard of Taiwan, a 1.04kg steel ball was dropped from a height of 1.5m without causing any cracking to the product. Siglite has also passed GB/T24725, ISO9001 an
On the ITS-UK National Pavilion at the ITS World Congress, Navtech Radar will be showcasing the safety and economic benefits of using its longer-range ClearWay radar systems for automated incident detection (AID). Characteristics such as the system’s very low false alarm rates – less than one per 24 hours – will be highlighted, as well as the system’s growing list of functionalities, which now include vehicle count and classification. Key features of the technology are that it enables road and tunnel operat
