Imaging and scanning technology business Lake Image will be demonstrating its inline production card inspection system called Discovery CardInspect, which offers card producers the chance to detect and correct a series of defects, at CARTES.

In combination with Discovery Multiscan, CardInspect provides simplex or duplex quality inspection and control for high speed card production lines. It can identify and remove defects including delamination, scratches and surface imperfections as well as print registration, colour and die-cut defects from the production stream using in-line tracking and divert functions.

Combining two different imaging technologies, the CardInspect module is a precisely designed optical and mechanical assembly, optimised to highlight a range of defects typically encountered during plastic card production processes at rates up to 60,000 cards per hour. The CardInspect module can also be integrated onto some existing card transport equipment providing a cost-effective functionality upgrade - without increasing the production line footprint. This enables card producers to enhance their quality control performance without investing in costly new card handling equipment.

Lake Image says it also partners with key card handling equipment manufacturers to supply a complete solution including feeder and transport if required. It can add variable data integrity and control, read and print for inline personalisation and complete job integrity across multiple production processes as options.

Lake Image designs, develops and manufactures imaging and scanning technologies for the worlds’ printing, labelling and packaging industries helping them optimise their processes, enhance their product quality and increase their profitability. With manufacturing in Europe and the USA, the company provides solutions that identify defective print, generate detailed audit trail reports and feed ADF and MIS architecture with piece/pack level information.%$Linker: 2 External <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?><dictionary /> 0 0 0 oLinkExternal <span class="mouselink">www.lakeimage.com</span> Visit www.lakeimage.com false http://www.lakeimage.com/ false false%>
