Keolis Shanghai opens first section of Songjiang tram line
Keolis Shanghai, a joint venture with Shanghai Shentong Metro, has opened the first section of the Songjiang tram line, offering connections to Shanghai Metro Line 6. The first phase is expected to transport 170,00 passengers per day.
The 13.9km route runs across Songjiang, a suburban district, and includes 20 stations from Canghua Rd station in the west to Zhongchen Rd station in the east which serves residential areas and universities.

6546 Keolis Shanghai, a joint venture with Shanghai Shentong Metro, has opened the first section of the Songjiang tram line, offering connections to Shanghai Metro Line 6. The first phase is expected to transport 170,00 passengers per day.
The 13.9km route runs across Songjiang, a suburban district, and includes 20 stations from Canghua Rd station in the west to Zhongchen Rd station in the east which serves residential areas and universities.
The service is being operated with 15 Citadis trams manufactured by 8158 Alstom and these will initially run every 10 minutes from 5am to 11pm. From mid-2019, the service will operate 30 trams across 31km with 46 stations.

The next Compass4D combined workshop and showcase event on the real deployment of ITS takes place at the Automotive Campus in Helmond in the Netherlands on 4 April.
The workshop will discuss the actions needed to deploy ITS: What cities should do and what they expect from the industry; The role of European, national and local authorities; and the appropriate business models to guarantee a successful C-ITS deployment. Ertico-ITS Europe has issued a call for contributions for the 12th ITS European Congress, which takes place in Strasbourg, 19-22 June 2017.
The main theme of the congress is ‘ITS beyond borders’ and contributions should address the seven main topics, including mobility services, next generation goods delivery, transport networks evaluation, connected and automated transport, satellite technology applied to mobility, ITS and the environment, or the author’s own ideas.

Israel-based cybersecurity firm SafeRide Technologies has joined the Genivi Alliance in a bid to secure connected and autonomous vehicles (C/AVs) from hacking threats.
Genivi is a non-profit alliance focused on delivering open source, in-vehicle infotainment and connected software.
Hilik Stein, chief technology officer at SafeRide, says the Vsentry cybersecurity software will be available on the Genivi development platform.
On 22 October 2012 the European Commission is organising its 3rd Conference on Intelligent Transport in Europe within the framework of the 19th ITS World Congress at Messe Wien, Room Stolz 1&2 and foyer Stolz. The main objective of the conference is to provide and discuss results of the ITS Action Plan and to present the status of the implementation of the ITS Directive 2010/40/EU. Additionally, the presentations will address legal issues for ITS deployment as well as European multimodal journey planners.
