In an Australian industry first, Kapsch TrafficCom Australia joins 858 ITS Australia as a partner to promote the benefits of intelligent transport systems. The partnership agreement was signed at the Kapsch dinner on the eve of the 2012 6456 ITS World Congress in Vienna.

The ITS Australia initiative is designed to foster long term partnerships with industry organisations over the coming years. By working collaboratively with industry partners in long term relationships, the association has greater opportunity to learn about member's needs and can better plan to support the development and deployments of ITS technologies across the transport industry.

Managing director Soren Tellegen said Kapsch TrafficCom Australia is pleased to announce that it has become a partner with ITS Australia. "ITS Australia is the leading professional body in Australia for both tolling and non-tolling technologies, which is the primary focus of our company," he said.

"We feel it is a perfect fit. In addition we are proud to support the ongoing initiatives that ITS Australia drive into the innovation and advancement of the ITS industry for the benefit of all Australians,” he continued.

ITS Australia chief executive Officer Susan Harris said the board of directors is delighted to have Kapsch TrafficCom Australia as the inaugural industry partner. "81 Kapsch is a great ITS industry citizen, not only in terms of the technology they provide, but also through the support they give the industry through partnerships such as ours and their commitment to ITS events globally," said Susan Harris.

"This partnership agreement is the first of its kind for the ITS industry in Australia and we acknowledge Kapsch for again demonstrating their leadership. This partnership is timely in the lead up to ITS Australia hosting the World Congress in Melbourne in 2016.  We look forward to leveraging this partnership with Kapsch to further support the development of the Australian ITS industry during this time of rapid evolution in technology," she continued.
