Kapsch says the system works by allowing transportation agencies to integrate their data and give citizens information via the municipal website and variable message panels.

Based on Kapsch's EcoTrafiXTM software, the system analyses information and the status of different modes of public transport to propose effective routes and organise traffic in real time. It is expected to optimise the mobility conditions of collective transport and reduce traffic congestion in the city centre.

According to Kapsch, the system provides Valladolid City Council with functions such as event and incident management, asset management, data analysis, report generation as well as the availability of data on the municipal website.
