79 Jenoptik Traffic Solutions is here at Intertraffic to offer technological and service-oriented solutions that efficiently increase traffic safety throughout the world. The company says traffic law enforcement strategies of the future can be positively influenced by applying flexible technology solutions.

To use a laser scanner or a radar sensor together with SmartCamera IV in a MiniRack for all applications (fixed and mobile) is an example of flexible technology, Jenoptik says. Taken out of the TraffiTower 2.0 and easily placed into a vehicle, on a container or on a tripod, the MiniRack is a new option which significantly expands enforcement possibilities. It can be used for stationary applications in the TraffiTower 2.0 which consists of up to eight rings and offers space for two systems at the same time.

For the tripod application, the MiniRack will be covered with a top for protection against environmental influences like rain, snow, dust and sand. The top is also used as a transport case and is easy to handle.

The top can be placed on the container base as well and the whole system can easily be moved to the measuring site. Jenoptik points out that all components are installed inside and are therefore protected against environmental influences. For some situations it can be an advantage to separate base and top, for example in difficult street situations (rough terrain) or to optimise the photo quality by separating the flash from the camera.

Additionally there are front or rear vehicle installation variants of the MiniRack.

Germany-based Traffic Data Systems (TDS) is launching three ground-breaking products at Intertraffic – the TMCS-U Weigh In Motion system, Bike-DSP, and a world first in testing devices (WIM-SIM). TDS predicts that the TMCS-U with the WIM-DSP unit (Digital Signal Processing, cascadable) will become the new standard for traffic monitoring and Weigh In Motion systems. With a built-in uninterruptible power supply, the company says the device is the world’s most powerful and smallest eight-lane route station to

Econolite will use the ITS World Congress to highlight its Centracs Adaptive and Travel Time software modules. Centracs Adaptive is designed for transportation agencies seeking to significantly improve traffic mobility over pre-programmed signal timing plans. It actively reallocates and adapts signal timing to improve traffic flow, including unpredictable or unexpected traffic conditions. Centracs Travel Time module enables Centracs ATMS to subscribe to BlueToad travel time and speed data to provide both hi

    October 24, 2012
Turkish company Vendeka is looking to expand its operations internationally after completing what it describes as the first passive RFID-based tolling project in Europe. The company installed the system on the Bosphorus Bridge, which links Europe and Asia. Previously, tolling was achieved by a card-based system, but traffic jams were caused by drivers stopping to place their cards in the readers. This has been replaced by Vendeka’s passive RFID system. A major advantage, says Vendeka, is that a passive RFID

    October 22, 2012
The Aimsun Online real-time decision support system for traffic management is taking centre stage at the TSS-Transport Simulation Systems (TSS) stand. Its dynamic, high-speed simulation of large areas allows traffic operators to accurately forecast the future network flow patterns that will result from a particular traffic management or information provision strategy. TSS is highlighting the fact that, among other projects, Aimsun Online has been selected as the simulation-based subsystem in the decision su
