Following the huge success of 6456 ITS World Congress in Detroit last year, three spectacular world-class cities are scheduled to host this must-attend event for 2015-2017.

2015: Bordeaux, France
This Fall, the ITS World Congress will be held in Bordeaux, France, October 5-9. With the main theme ‘Towards Intelligent Mobility – Better Use of Space’, the Bordeaux Congress will focus on how achieving intelligent mobility will change our lives, and the benefi ts space can bring to ITS applications. The Congress activities will be held at the Bordeaux Convention Centre – called the Palais des Congrès – as well as the Parc des Expositions. Center of a legendary wine-growing region, Bordeaux is a vibrant and sophisticated city; a top gourmet and culture destination; and a UNESCO World Heritage site.

“The ITS World Congress in Detroit was the most successful World Congress in the US,” said James Barbaresso, 2014 Organizing Committee Chair and VP at HNTB. “Building on the wonderful experiences in Detroit, discussions will continue in Bordeaux on rethinking the way we move in the modern world.”

2016: Melbourne, Australia
In 2016, ITS World Congress will be held ‘down under’ in Australia’s cultural capital of Melbourne, October 10-14. ‘ITS— Enhancing Liveable Cities and Communities’ is the theme for the Congress, highlighting Melbourne’s reputation as the world’s most liveable city.

The event – held at Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre – will feature Australia’s ITS strengths such as mobility in large urban areas, open road tolling, sustainable transport and connected vehicles for freight.

Set on the shores of picturesque Port Phillip Bay, the southernmost city of mainland Australia, Melbourne is a creative and exciting city. Cosmopolitan and multicultural Melbourne features a beautiful setting and progressive dining scene, all easily navigated on foot. The city called ‘Australia’s most stylish city after sunset’ has made blending business with pleasure a sophisticated art form and a way of life.

2017: Montreal, Canada
Montreal, Canada will host the ITS World Congress October 29 – November 2, 2017. Held at the Palais des congrès Convention Center, the Congress will follow the theme ‘Seamless Mobility in a Connected World’. Anchor sponsors include IRD and the City of Montreal.

Montreal – which is predicted to be one of the smartest cities in the world by 2017 – will host an event that is expected to attract as many as 10,000 attendees from around the world, including Russia, China and Latin America.

A mix of old world charm and North American energy, Montreal offers great cuisine, music and performing arts. The entire year of 2017 is full of celebrations, including the 375th birthday of Montreal, 150th birthday of Canada, and 20th anniversary for ITS Canada – and the celebrations will continue at ITS World Congress.
