With 35 live, technical and interactive ITS demonstrations at this year’s World Congress there will be plenty of opportunities to see and experience first-hand the latest technology being developed and implemented in the industry. Each of the demonstrations will take place in the immediate vicinity of the Congress Exhibition Hall during the World Congress. Some demonstration highlights in each of the categories include:

Space technologies and services for ITS: the Satellite Applications Catapult will discuss seamless communications for professional users. Communication is critical to safety, security and commercial services in ITS and in particular to professional users such as the emergency services. This demo will show continuity of service for voice, video and data services over satellite and terrestrial communications technologies.

Cooperative ITS deployment challenges:  5460 NXP, together with 189 Siemens and 1683 Honda, will showcase the latest automotive technology which is driving the industry towards more intelligent, safer vehicles. Live demonstrations from NXP include 3 Honda cars equipped with secure V2X, RFID and green light optimised speed technology.

Multimodal transport for people and goods: The CO-GISTICS project invites you to take part in a comprehensive demonstration showing the first results of real deployment of C-ITS infrastructure, vehicles and services in the area of logistics, piloted in 7 European cities.

Urban trends driving ITS changes: The advent of the Internet of Vehicles is going to change the behaviour of millions of drivers and serve the crowd of connected cars, which will require hyper-connectivity relying on efficient communications. The demonstration presents a new hybrid network architecture supporting end to end IPv6 connectivity, based on cooperative ITS which relies on cellular and vehicular infrastructures.

Solutions for sustainable mobility: The City of Bordeaux, Bordeaux Métropole and Bordeaux University pooled their know-how and develop an electric bicycle demonstration. The idea was to develop a kit to convert any bicycle into an electrically-assisted bicycle.

Automated roads, automated management, automated driving - autonomous valet service by 2453 Renault: A highly automated valet vehicle service will be demonstrated using Renault’s electric vehicles. The service is for use as part of vehicle fleets like taxi pools.

Are big data and open data transport’s ‘silver bullets’? The vehicle of the future will be part of the Internet of Everything and create a completely new experience of mobility. With its demo car, 260 Continental showcases its vision of a future Smart Mobility Ecosystem, taking into account all layers of vehicle connectivity.
