The organising committee of the 19th 6456 ITS World Congress & Exhibition, being held from 22-26 October 2012 in Vienna, Austria, have issued a reminder that the call for papers is open and that the submission deadline is 13th January, 2012.
David Crawford reviews the recent opening of Dubai's Red Line. The US$7.6bn Dubai Metro, the Phase I Red Line of which started partial operation in September 2009, will be the world's longest driverless rail system on its planned completion in 2011. With a total length of some 75km, it will then overtake the 68.7km Vancouver SkyTrain and be able to carry over 1.2 million passengers on a typical day.
Messe Frankfurt (MF) will use voice assistant Alexa to answer questions from exhibitors and visitors at this year’s Hypermotion, held in 5.1 and the adjoining Congress Center from 20 to 22 November 2017. A digital pilot project will also be presented to address this year’s theme of Smart solutions for mobility and logistics.
