The 19th 6456 ITS World Congress is the venue for presentations on intelligent transport systems for urban areas by the 1690 European Commission’s expert group, starting at 0900 on 24 October.
 
The day will start with a session introducing the guidelines for the deployment of key ITS applications in urban areas expert group on which has developed specific guidance for the deployment of ITS in urban areas, and in particular for the provision and organisation of multimodal information, traffic management and smart ticketing. The session will provide an opportunity for the ITS industry and city representatives to discuss and provide feedback on the guidelines.
 
This session will be followed by two executive sessions as part of the official congress programme, focusing on future trends in city mobility and making multimodality the pillar of modern life.
 
A tour of the exhibition will take place between the two executive sessions, visiting stands specifically showing ITS demonstrations for urban mobility.
 
The final session of the day, on mobility challenges, will feature presentations from two cities, London and Istanbul, followed by a panel discussion with some of the biggest industry players. 189 Siemens, 769 Imtech Traffic & Infra, 129 Swarco, 2663 Vialis International, 4186 Xerox and 108 Q-Free will debate with the audience how they can work together as an industry to ensure closer cooperation, particularly in the context of cooperative systems.
