In the meantime, everyone in the host city of Vienna is getting ready to welcome visitors to this, the 19th Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) World Congress. Throughout the 5-day event, prominent locations in the ‘best city in the world’ (Mercer Quality of Living Survey in 2009, 2010, and 2011) will hold different elements of the congress, and everything is being hosted by the BMVIT (4792 Austrian Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology), and organised by 374 Ertico, an umbrella organisation for ITS in Europe. There will also be support from local organisers 4793 AustriaTech. The congress programme includes an exhibition, technical lectures, and a demonstration area.

The theme of this year’s congress is “smarter on the way,” and the organisers hope to “throw a spotlight on the ways in which user-friendly ITS can benefit both private and commercial customers.” Also, there will be a lot of discussion around “connecting modes of transport to make traffic systems flow more easily.”
Early bird registrations are open for the 17th ITS Asia Pacific Forum 2020 with the opportunity of saving up to $AUS200 (£109).
ITS Australia says the forum, whose theme is ‘ITS Innovation Creating Liveable Communities’, “will demonstrate Australia’s new initiatives and adapted learnings from the advances of our neighbouring megacities”. Key topics will include Mobility as a Service, autonomous vehicles, data analytics and network development.

For the first time, the Australian ITS Summit and the National electronic Tolling Conference (NeTC), which takes place on 12-14 May in Melbourne, will combine as the most important gathering in Australia for ITS professionals in 2015.
Delegates attending the combined Summit/NeTC Tolling Conference will have flexibility in attendance and choice of sessions.

The FEHRL Infrastructure Research Meeting 2015 (FIRM15) will be held on 22 and 23 April 2015 at the Diamant Centre in Brussels, Belgium.
