Throughout the 5-day event, prominent locations in the ‘best city in the world’ (Mercer Quality of Living Survey in 2009, 2010, and 2011) will hold different elements of the congress, and everything is being hosted by the BMVIT (4792 Austrian Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology) %$Linker: 2 External <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?><dictionary /> 0 0 0 oLinkExternal www.bmvit.gv.at/en/index.html bmvit false http://www.bmvit.gv.at/en/index.html false false%>, and organised by 374 Ertico, %$Linker: 2 External <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?><dictionary /> 0 0 0 oLinkExternal www.Ertico.com Ertico false http://www.ertico.com/ false false%>, an umbrella organisation for ITS in Europe. The theme of this year’s congress is “smarter on the way,” and the organisers hope to “throw a spotlight on the ways in which user-friendly ITS can benefit both private and commercial customers.” Also, there will be a lot of discussion around “connecting modes of transport to make traffic systems flow more easily.”
