In the meantime, everyone in the host city of Vienna is getting ready to welcome visitors to this, the 19th Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) World Congress. There will also be support from local organisers 4793 AustriaTech, www.austriatech.at/. The congress programme includes an exhibition, technical lectures, and a demonstration area.

The theme of this year’s congress is “smarter on the way,” and the organisers hope to “throw a spotlight on the ways in which user-friendly ITS can benefit both private and commercial customers.” Also, there will be a lot of discussion around “connecting modes of transport to make traffic systems flow more easily.”

  • Autotalks world first in V2V and V2I communications

    Autotalks will present Craton, which it says is the world’s first VLSI for Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) and related Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) communication. The complete functionality of an On-Board-Unit (OBU) is supported by Craton and its RFIC companion Pluton which together form a true automotive-grade V2V transceiver. Craton is capable of authenticating all over-the-air messages, eliminating the need for complex message selection algorithms.
