ITS Australia awards shortlist announced

ITS Australia has announced the shortlisted ITS Australia National Awards finalists for 2015. Winners will be announced at the Awards Presentation Night Dinner, to be held at the iconic Sydney Opera House. 858 ITS Australia has announced the shortlisted ITS Australia National Awards finalists for 2015. Winners will be announced at the Awards Presentation Night Dinner, to be held at the iconic Sydney Opera House.

Keynote speaker for the event, Mr Tim Reardon, Secretary Transport for the New South Wales Government will highlight the digital transport advancements in the state.

A record number of nominations were submitted for the prestigious Awards Program, which  is a major initiative of private, government and research bodies which recognise the expertise and contribution of Australian technologies to the future of global ITS.

Shortlisted finalists in the Government Award include 6722 Roads and Maritime Services, 7026 Department of Transport and Main Roads and Transport for New South Wales. Companies shortlisted for the Industry Award are 6667 Cohda Wireless, AD Engineering and 7861 Seeing Machines.

Chair of the ITS Awards Committee, Gino Dompietro, ITS Australia Director and ITS Principal at Jacobs says “the calibre of this year’s entries is the highest yet, and is certainly a very pleasing indication of the rapidly improving quality and rapid growth of the ITS sector in Australia. “I would like to congratulate all the finalists and those who have made the shortlist for this year’s awards and look forward to announcing the winner on the Awards evening,” he added.
