ITS Australia appoints global ambassadors for 2016 ITS World Congress

ITS Australia has launched its international ambassador program to help promote the 23rd Intelligent Transport systems World Congress to be held 10 to 14 October in Melbourne, Australia. 858 ITS Australia has launched ITS International ambassador program to help promote the 23rd Intelligent Transport systems World Congress to be held 10 to 14 October in Melbourne, Australia.

To be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, the 6456 ITS World Congress and its complementary exhibition are expected to attract more than 5,000 delegates to the capital that has been a regular winner of “the world’s most liveable city” title.

ITS Australia Chief Executive Officer Susan Harris said the 2016 ITS World Congress will bring the world’s leading transportation, infrastructure and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) academics and executives to Melbourne.

“In addition to ITS businesses, the Congress attracts the full range of industry stakeholders, including academia, business and private users of the technologies, and government officials. Scores of international colleagues have already expressed strong interest in visiting Melbourne.

“We are grateful to have the support of a growing network of high profile ambassadors from around the globe who are committed to working with us to promote the 23rd World Congress,” she said.

The 2016 World Congress ambassadors appointed by 858 ITS Australia to date include: ITS China representative and Ministry of Transport Research Institute of Highways Department Manager Ms Weiyun Jiao; 5495 ITS Germany Managing Director and Network of National ITS Organisations Vice Chair Norbert Handke; Transportation Sustainability and Environment Consultant Hans-Joachim Schade; 4155 TTS Italia Secretary General Olga Landolfi; Korea Transport Institute Research Fellow and Director of ITS World Congress Young-Jun Moon; 5497 ITS Sweden Chief Executive Officer Christer Karlsson; National Taiwan University Professor of Transport Systems and Director of Public Transport Research Centre Jason Chang; Chairman of ITS United Kingdom Eric Sampson; Secretary General of ITS United Kingdom and Network of National ITS Organisations Chair Jennie Martin; Solutions Director, International Transportation and Government of 4186 Xerox Services Richard Harris; IBM Global Business Development Executive ITS Michael Noblett.

“ITS Australia thanks the 2016 World Congress ambassadors for their time and commitment. We look forward to engaging more people from more countries to this important role,” said Susan Harris.
