ITS Australia 2017 summit announces technical tours

ITS Australia has announced the optional technical tours that will take place during the 2017 summit in Brisbane 27-29 September, providing delegates with behind the scene tours to Brisbane’s ITS technologies and control centres!.Tours will be held on Day 3 – Friday 29 September 2017 from 0830 to 1630, hosted by Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads. 858 ITS Australia has announced the optional technical tours that will take place during the 2017 summit in Brisbane 27-29 September, providing delegates with behind the scene tours to Brisbane’s ITS technologies and control centres!.Tours will be held on Day 3 – Friday 29 September 2017 from 0830 to 1630,  hosted by Queensland 7026 Department of Transport and Main Roads.

During Tour 1, to Brisbane’s public transport system: multi-modal ITS transport solution, takes place from 0830 to 1630, delegates will be shown real-time traveller information services and systems, and electronic payment technologies. During the tour, participants will have access to local ITS experts and will gain an understanding of how ITS is facilitating improved journey experiences for customers across all modes of transport in Queensland. The tour will also provide a visit to the state-of-the-art intermodal facilities at the Roma Street Station bus-rail interchange.

Tour 2, intelligent solutions for the transport sector, will include a visit to Excel Technology’s specialist vehicle detection product range utilises video imaging and in-pavement based detection systems that count, measure, classify, categorise and weigh vehicles in motion from a single hardware platform.

Delegates will also visit J1-LED, which provides end-to-end LED display systems and solutions across Intelligent Transportation Systems, portable LED advertising and traffic control signs, LED advertising displays and LED lights (Industrial Applications).  Services include design, development, manufacturing and system testing through to installation and commissioning.

The day will also include a tour of state-of-the-art environment and maritime simulation services at the Smartship Australia facility, and a site visit to Greater Springfield to view and discuss the city’s Smart City Master Plan.
