ITS America Announces 2014 Best of ITS Awards Finalists

ITS America has announced the list of finalists for the 2014 Best of ITS Awards, the highly competitive program which recognises the most innovative projects and influential achievements in the high-tech transportation community. ITS America has announced the list of finalists for the 2014 Best of ITS Awards, the highly competitive program which recognises the most innovative projects and influential achievements in the high-tech transportation community.

Finalists will be recognised, and the winners announced, during the ITS America Awards Breakfast session at the 21st World Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems, Tuesday, September 9, 2014 from 7:30 to 8:30am at the Cobo Center in Detroit, Michigan.

The Best of ITS Awards recognises organisations whose projects have demonstrated specific and measurable outcomes and exemplified innovation by establishing a “new dimension” of performance. The finalists, who are recognised for best new product, service or application or best new practice, are:

    A 76-year-old passenger travelling on an autonomous shuttle has been injured after the vehicle came to an unexpected stop, says KUTV. Gene Petrie, an employee at the Utah State Tax Commission, was thrown from his seat and hit the handrail near the door, resulting in bruising and black eyes.     Thanks to a partnership between parking technology provider Streetline and Cisco, drivers in the San Francisco bay area of the US are now able to locate the nearest vacant parking space using just their smartphone and a mobile app called Parker.
