City authorities worldwide need to work more closely together to
shape the future of on-demand transportation services. Such co-operation could help reduce congestion and pollution, and improve the lives of citizens - that is the view of leading international experts who will be addressing MaaS Market – Concept to Delivery – the third Mobility as a Service (MaaS) conference to be run by ITS International.
The second European Conference on Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMP) takes place in Bucharest, Romania, at Politehnica University of Bucharest on 16 and 27 June 12015.
It is the principal annual event for the international community of practitioners, policy makers and academics from across Europe to come together to debate key issues, highlight developments in mobility planning and exchange ideas and experience.
Under the overall theme of the conference, ‘Sustainable mobility for everyone’, nine
Governor of Colorado Jared Polis has signed an executive order which outlines a suite of initiatives to support a transition to zero emission vehicles (ZEV) in the US state.
Polis says: “Our goal is to reach 100% renewable electricity by 2040 and embrace the green energy transition already underway economy-wide”
He believes the public health and environmental benefits of widespread transportation electrification will increase as the state moves towards a cleaner electric grid.
The initiatives include
US electric mobility company Bird has formed a global safety advisory board to implement campaigns and products to improve the safety for riders using electric scooters.
The board will also seek to improve the safety of pedestrians and cyclists who share space with riders using low-speed e-scooters.
Additionally, Bird intends to carry on working with cities through its Save Our Sidewalks pledge to boost rider safety and improve the quality of bikes lanes. The scope of the work includes repainting an
