73 Iteris is using this ITS World Congress to introduce intersection analytics in its iPeMS lite software that focuses on arterial measurement and management applications, and now provides operational data at the intersection level.  The firm developed the product as a prelude to its robust iPeMS performance management software that delivers real-time and predictive traffic analytics from any traffic data source.

The latest version of iPeMS lite now provides information from the intersection level, including valuable operational analytics such as vehicle counts, queue lengths, and signal operations.  The information can then be used to assess network health down to the intersection level, assign a performance grade to the operation, conduct mitigation analysis, and quickly identify trends in operation levels of the transportation network.

“We are excited to introduce our newest edition of iPeMS lite, which further reflects our leadership position in Transportation Analytics,” said Abbas Mohaddes, president and CEO of Iteris. “We are assisting several state DOTs and local agencies with setting targets, measuring performance, and analysing and reporting various conditions using our iPeMS platform.”

Performance management is embedded in the US transportation bill MAP-21, with requirements of performance measures to be included into their planning process. Iteris is at the forefront of the movement as evident with their $1.2 million contract award announced last week with National Highway Institute. Iteris has also announced a strategic partnership agreement with 7643 Here, a 183 Nokia Company, for its mapping and traffic data capabilities to be used as a data source for iPeMS and as part of a mutual effort to help state DOT’s, in particular the I-95 Coalition, meet strategic MAP-21 requirements.
