73 Iteris has a major presence at this year’s ITS America Annual meeting as the company continues finding traction for its suite of transportation management solutions that measure, manage and inform users.

The company’s participation will kick off on Sunday, May 31 with the Iteris-sponsored bicycle tour of downtown Pittsburgh which will pass through an intersection where the firm’s enhanced bicycle detection algorithm in the latest version of its award-winning SmartCycle innovation will be on display. Participants will get the chance during the exhibition to see themselves having been detected, along with all participating cyclists, from any location at the intersection. Iteris says SmartCycle is a ground-breaking product that ensures that when cyclists are present, an intersection can include extra green time for them to safely cross.

Solutions to provide for better management of transportation networks are at the foundation of everything Iteris does and the firm is involved with every aspect of the Connected Vehicle initiative in the US, from the communications capabilities, data sources and security, to the equipment that detects and collects, and distributes the data. ITS related solutions traffic management centres, transit planning and signal priority will be on display to show what is available today and where the future is going.

Meanwhile, providing actionable information that is easy to understand and view is the culmination of all solutions. iPeMS is the company’s performance management software that ingests all variables impacting transportation, from weather to incidents. The newest application module added to the software is geared towards MAP-21 performance measurement requirements. Live traffic will be fed into the system for demonstrations at the Iteris booth.
