Over 5,000 industry professionals are expected to attend the second edition of Intertraffic Mexico, held in Citibanamex from 15-17 November 2017. Exhibitors from 47 countries will showcase their latest products and solutions within infrastructure, traffic management, parking, safety and smart mobility. It is set to highlight the best practises from the mobility industry with 180 companies on the show floor.

Organised by RAI Amsterdam and E.J. Krause Tarsus de Mexico (KTdM), the event stimulates the establishment of close cooperation within cooperation within governments and commercial sectors.

Last week, the official pre-show press conference was attended by Jorge Martínez Ramos, Chief Executive Officer of ZACUA and Antonio Benítez, Adviser to the Chamber of Deputies which explained the challenge Latin America cities are facing, particularly within urban mobility. By 2050 it is expected that 70% of the population will live in cities, demanding efficient public transport, better roads and advanced solutions for companies and general public.

On the 15 November, the conference program will include an international presentation by Diana Zhou, market strategy manager of Hyperloop One; a mode of transport which could deliver passengers from Mexico City to Guadalajara in 38 minutes. The next day will feature several Ministers participating in a round table on the Experience of the States, which will be moderated by the Ministry of Agricultural, Territorial and Urban Development (SEDATU).

This year’s event will also present the first edition of the Intertraffic Award Latin America in which three companies have been nominated for their project or product that improves mobility whilst taking sustainability into account. The jury has nominated Autotraffic (Smartmobility Platform), Pumatronix (ITSCAM FF Integrated OCR solution) and Sice (Automatic danger warning system at intersections). The winner will be announced at an event on the 16 November and will be on display at the Intertraffic Worldwide Events stand the next day.

Intertraffic Mexico’s opening event will commence on the first day at 1:00pm in the front of the entrance hall D. The exhibition times are 12:00 to 7:00pm daily and the conference starts daily at 10:00 am. Press office hours: 10:00 to 7:00pm.

José Navarro Chief Executive Officer of KTdM, said: “Disruptive innovations are appearing with breathtaking speed and every day there are more and more advances changing our perspective of daily life. This scenario makes it vital to provide smart mobility solutions for a better quality of life and thus ensure certain minimum conditions of co-existence and safety for every member of society, minimizing traffic congestion and pollution, while boosting the region’s economy.”

“Mexican companies with an international outlook like Indra México, Autotraffic and Zacua are some examples of companies who are bridging the gap with the global industry. Intertraffic Mexico really has become the meeting place for industry professionals to collaborate on international level and share regional experiences”, Navarro added.
