Intertraffic Istanbul looking strong

The organisers of the sixth Intertraffic Istanbul event expect the exhibition to be a major success. The exhibition space has doubled in size and the organisers say that this will provide an important platform for traffic professionals from Asia, Europe and the Middle East. The organisers of the sixth 70 Intertraffic Istanbul event expect the exhibition to be a major success. The exhibition space has doubled in size and the organisers say that this will provide an important platform for traffic professionals from Asia, Europe and the Middle East. The show features over 9,000m² of exhibition floor space and outside demonstration area.

In all 200 exhibitors will attend from 15 countries. The international trade fair for infrastructure, ITS traffic management, safety and parking will take place between May 25th and May 27th at the Istanbul Expo Centre, Turkey. The event includes local and international manufacturers in the fields of traffic, road safety, parking systems, and public transportation, which are the top issues on the agendas of modern cities, will seize the opportunity to showcase state-of-the-art modern solutions and the latest developments to central and local authorities at Intertraffic Istanbul.

The main themes of Intertraffic Istanbul 2011 are mobility and road safety. As the crossroads for Asia, Europe and the Middle East, Istanbul is very keen to make the most of the latest innovations in the transportation section.

There will be a focus on transportation of passengers and cargo in and between urbanised areas/cities. This will include the latest developments in public transportation, smart transportation systems, traffic management and planning, parking issues, institutions involved in transportation management and their coordination. The event will also lookg at road safety, equipment and overall solutions to increase road safety in the conference programme and exhibition.

The conference programme will cover: International Transportation Projects; Urban Traffic and Transportation Planning; Public Transportation; Smart Transportation Systems; Commissioning Railway Systems and Municipalities Issues; Traffic Planning and Material Use In addition, inner city traffic safety projects will be awarded at Intertraffic Istanbul. Up to 81 city municipalities will compete with projects related to inner city traffic security issues. Another category is for the master thesis of university students from traffic related faculties. This includes some of the mayor's projects that will be evaluated by a jury of university professors. The winners will receive awards at the opening ceremony on May 25th.
