Intertraffic Amsterdam - the largest trade show in the ITS industry calendar - has been moved back another 12 months.

The March 2020 edition had already been rescheduled to March 2021 - but now organiser RAI Amsterdam has confirmed that the event has again been rescheduled, this time for March 2022.

With the pandemic still a significant issue across Europe, the difficulty of international travel and worries over the spread of infection were likely to have cut attendance if the event had been held in four months' time.

The in-person show will now run from 29 March to 01 April 2022.

RAI points to the fact that vaccine roll-outs are due soon, and that the outlook is 'steadily brighter'.

"Intertraffic has been rescheduled so it can live up to its large scale international standard," it insists.

"The new dates have been selected to adhere to the industry event calendar and Intertraffic’s spring time frame."

Exhibition manager Joyce de Winter says: "These new dates give us confidence to tick all the boxes again. As 2022 happens to coincide with our 50th Intertraffic brand anniversary, we look forward to pulling out all the stops."

There will be a new virtual event in the meantime, called Intertraffic Live & Online.

"We will provide our community with complementary formats to connect, share knowledge, network and do business," continues de Winter.

"Though in-person contact is irreplaceable, virtual proximity can open new doors in anticipation of our industry reunion in 2022."

Intertraffic Live & Online will be online in March next year, with expert sessions, solution pitches, exchanges of best practice and start-up opportunities.
