HW Sands will be demonstrating its latest card design, functionality and security products for the card manufacturing and imaging industries at CARTES.

They include its Clear Card IR Blocking solutions, including both ink and film-based IR blocking. Its newest Single Pass IR Blocking inks are translucent and meet ISO standards. The company will also be launching a new reduced-metal, silver mirror film designed to replace the holo foils and silver metalised foil inlays used in card construction.

The reduced metal content allows for its use in RFID antenna split core construction. Also on show will be its new lines of UV Curable Inks, which HW Sands claims are the ‘green’ alternative to current solvent- basedsolutions, spanning a range of colours in both opaque and transparent options. This platform includes options for effect coatings, printable conductive silver inks, and spot printable press-ready reflective silver.

The company also offers metallic, PANTONE and custom colour matching. Visitors to its stand will also be able to find out about the company’s PET bonding films, formulated to securely bond previously non-laminable materials, allowing card construction to meet and exceed industry peel strength standards. The PET Bonding film produces peel strength test values of 16.5N/cm. %$Linker: 2 External <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?><dictionary /> 0 0 0 oLinkExternal <span class="mouselink">www.hwsands.com</span> Visit www.hwsands.com Website false http://www.hwsands.com/ false false%>

The Barrier.Gate, an intelligent barrier system from Skidata, is an inexpensive solution for long-term parking facilities because it combines column and barrier in one product. Less consumption of energy and space are among its sustainable benefits. The barrier communicates via light signals of the integrated track light, while the built-in camera helps to prevent vandalism and unauthorised entry through a closing barrier.
