Scott F. Belcher, president and CEO of the Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS America), has responded to the Wi-Fi Innovation Act introduced by US Representatives Bob Latta, Darrell Issa, Anna Eshoo and Doris Matsui.
The Act would put pressure on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to allow unlicensed devices to operate in the 5.9 GHz band of spectrum set aside by the FCC for vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communication technology showcased by Preside
UK-based Q-Free TDC has received orders from three different customers at a total value of US$3 million.
The orders comprise deliveries of weigh-in-motion (WIM) services and equipment to the Department for Transport in the UK, in addition to one customer in the US and one customer in Pakistan. The orders will be delivered during 2016.

FedEx Express says it has made significant progress towards its goal to make its vehicle fleet 20 per cent more fuel efficient by 2020, and announced that its vehicle fleet is now 16.6 per cent more fuel efficient through FY2011 than it was in 2005. Twenty per cent of the FedEx Express diesel vehicle pickup and delivery fleet has already been converted to more efficient and cleaner emission models that comply with 2010 US Environmental Protection Agency diesel emission standards.
