Test World Oy is building a year-round winter test centre in Finland which will fulfil the needs and demands of vehicle and tyre manufacturers. The first phase of construction will start in next month and this part of the site will be in operation before the end of the year. The three-phase project, which will create a 30,000 m 2 test centre serving vehicle manufacturers and sub-contractors, will be completed by the end of 2015.
Research from the British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) shows that ‘black box’ motor insurance sales have increased five fold in the last two years, and are set to snowball to around 500,000 in the next two years. BIBA says that the telematics technology can offer savings on motor insurance of around 2530 per cent and some young drivers can save up to US$1,554.
Red-light safety cameras installed by American Traffic Solutions (ATS) turned in another year of positive results at intersections in New Jersey, and trends show "driver behaviour is being modified," according to the recently issued New Jersey Department of Transportation's (NJDOT) third annual analysis of the photo enforcement program. According to the report, "Further sustained analysis is needed and the Department recommends that the traffic control signal monitoring systems pilot program continue."
