David Crawford looks forward to the completion of Stockholm's JustNu project. End-2010 is the target date for delivery of the final stages of Stockholm public transport authority (PTA) Stockholms Lokaltrafik (SL)'s ambitious JustNu (Right Now) integrated travel information system. Installation began in 2004, and the result will represent a large-scale and highly exportable solution to the need for harmonisation of traveller information in urban regions with multiple transport operators.
TrafficCast International has successfully implemented two traffic signal optimisation projects in the State of Georgia. To improve key arterial roadway efficiencies, Cobb County and Fulton County have deployed TrafficCast’s BlueToad online suite of travel time data management tools to mitigate congestion and reduce travel delays.
Exponentially widening mobile phone ownership is opening up the field to new ways of obtaining and disseminating better travel information from and to public transport users, via for example social media and tracking riders' phones.
