The Arbella Insurance Group (Arbella) and Cambridge Mobile Telematics (CMT) have launched a driving app for all residents of Massachusetts and Connecticut with the intention of changing driver behaviour and improving safety through real-time feedback, personalised data and insights and gamification. Called Wheel Focused, it provides feedback on rapid acceleration, hard braking, sharp turns, speeding and phone distraction while logging trips and presenting feedback after the journey is completed. It may have one the heaviest traffic volumes in the UK but Greater London tops the safe driving table according to analysis from insurance provider Aviva’s Drive App, which uses smartphone technology to record a motorist’s driving style, covering their acceleration, braking and cornering.
