5550 HaCon is expanding its international activities into the North American market, in a partnership with 7877 Bytemark that will see the two companies deliver new IT capabilities for transit agencies and accurate real-time transit information for passengers.

Bytemark and HaCon are currently carrying out their first joint project for Capital Metro, the regional public transportation provider in Central Texas. In and around Austin, passengers will soon benefit from multimodal door-to-door trip planning, push notifications and real-time data that will be visualised on a dynamic HAFAS Live Map.

“We launched the mobile app to streamline the rider’s boarding and riding experience,” said Capital Metro President/CEO Linda Watson. “Convenient trip-planning capabilities are integral to the user’s experience, and the new enhanced app with next-generation technology will make it even easier to use.”

“HaCon brings decades of experience to the mass transit agencies here in North America,” said Micah Bergdale, CEO of Bytemark, while Michael Frankenberg, managing director at HaCon, looks forward to valuable synergies, the integration of ticketing in HaCon apps beyond Europe.
