Each car is equipped with Getaround Connect, a proprietary technology that allows renters to locate and unlock the car using the company’s app, removing the need to meet the owner in-person for a manual key exchange. Getaround’s safety features include insurance and 24/7 roadside assistance.
Atlanta is the latest US city to join Getaround’s car-sharing service. Vietnam’s Ministry of Transport has rejected a proposal from GrabVietnam to extend its ride-hailing service into the country’s southern and central highland provinces. The company is required to cancel its launch in the provinces of Ninh Thuan, Dong Thap and Gia Lai.
