Speaking at the press launch of CARTES SECURE CONNEXIONS 2014 in Paris, Alfano announced that more than 20,000 visitors and nearly 450 exhibitors are expected from 140 countries.  7839   DataCard, 1750   American Express, 3866   Gemalto, 7840   HID Global, 7849   Ingenico Group, 5460   NXP, 6369   Oberthur Technologies, 7841   Powa Technologies, 6234   STMicroelectronics and 5679   Verifone are among the big-name companies which have already reserved their exhibition spaces. “We will focus on current key issues, such as totally secure mobility, secure services for cloud computing, biometrics, data protection in a digital society and even smart commerce,” Alfano said. “Payment methods are changing and new types of payment companies are appearing. The multichannel era is progressing but guaranteeing transaction security is becoming absolutely key to ensure user confidence. There are new threats calling for new control measures. Data protection has become a critical question for citizens, companies and governments.” As well as the trade show itself, a full conference programme will run alongside, exploring major trends for the future in terms of payment, digital security, identification and mobility. Around 1,700 key makersdecision-makers from banks, financial institutions, payment services and e-commerce solutions will gather to hear more than 180 influential speakers from international organisations presenting their experiences and visions for the future.
