Fostering ITS Policy and the IRF manifesto

Fostering ITS Policy, an international workshop jointly organised by TTS Italia (National Association for Telematics for Transport and Safety) and the IRF Policy Committee on ITS, aims to bring together key partners from the public, private and academic sectors in Italy to discuss ITS policy frameworks and developments in ITS university education. The workshop takes place as part of the New World Conference The New World II, the ITS for mobility management convention in Bologna on 5 December 2012 at  Savoia Hotel Regency.

The programme features key discussions on Italian policy for ITS deployment, as well as debate on the Italian ITS action plan and the view from industry. There are also discussions on how can the Italian policy framework for ITS can be improved, and the actions needed to implement the IRF manifesto in Italy.

A session on university education in ITS has prominent Italian universities presenting their activities and discussions on research and strengthening of international connections.

The workshop closes with a panel discussion on the implementation of the IRF Vienna Manifesto on ITS and how to communicate the benefits and opportunities of ITS to society at large.
