The 1765 American Automobile Association (AAA) has unveiled what it claims is North America's first roadside assistance vehicle capable of charging electric vehicles. AAA mobile electric vehicle charging will begin as a pilot programme in Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Knoxville, and Tampa later this summer. Level 2 and Level 3 mobile charging for 10-15 minutes will be provided to members with electric vehicles with depleted batteries, which will allow the vehicle to drive three to 15 miles to a charging station where they can further charge their vehicle.
