German headquartered Hoeft & Wessel Group has received an order for the Almex e-ticketing system from French bus company Les Cars Air France, operated by Aérolis, a joint subsidiary of 6546 Keolis and 6547 Air France, to be installed on buses operating between Paris Charles-de-Gaulle and Paris Orly and the city of Paris.

The order, the first in France for Hoeft & Wessel, comprises a total of 55 on-board ticket vending terminals with ticket printers, together with application software and integration into the back-office system. Rollout and installation will be carried out in two phases with final commissioning planned for autumn of 2013.

The equipment will provide 6545 Les Cars Air France with an efficient ticketing system that will facilitate various forms of payment from cash to credit cards. Based on the use of barcodes and utilising cloud architecture for the recording of fare tickets, the on-board terminals can accept both printed e-tickets as well as tickets issued by airlines and travel agencies or sales outlets of Les Cars Air. Future developments include the ability to scan tickets using a smart phone or tablet PC passed in front of the reader.

"What convinced us beyond the quality of the terminals was the modular structure of the Almex system and the ability of Hoeft & Wessel to adapt to our specific requirements," explains Fabrice Franck, Managing Director at Aérolis.
