Evolt wins a place on Scottish EV charging Framework

Evolt, the electric vehicle (EV) charge point supplier and part of the Swarco group, has been selected by the Energy Saving Trust (EST) as one of the companies to provide EV charging solutions on a new Scotland-wide framework agreement. Evolt, the electric vehicle (EV) charge point supplier and part of the 129 Swarco group, has been selected by the Energy Saving Trust (EST) as one of the companies to provide EV charging solutions on a new Scotland-wide framework agreement.

The new framework includes the right to tender, be selected, or quote for the installation of rapid, commercial and domestic charging units on the mainland and in the Highlands and Islands. The announcement follows a full tender and is effective immediately to an initial expiry date of December 2018.

Evolt has already installed charging equipment in Scotland, including 85 Evolt Rapid chargers, which the company says can efficiently charge two EVs to 80 per cent of their battery life within 30 minutes through a 50Kw DC and 43Kw AC outlet.

The user-friendly, tamper proof units offer simultaneous charging functionality on both fast and rapid charge points and contain a built in 3G communications modem enabling remote monitoring of the charging process and charging data collection.

    Electric vehicle future for Norway
    Innovative fast-charging systems for electric vehicles are now being supplied to Norway. The country is buying the high speed charging technology from Epyon, a Belgian supplier. Norwegian firm Lysi Energi is purchasing the commercial charging stations for electric vehicles in a bid to build a nationwide network. Epyon recently installed a Terra 51 Charge Station in Sandnes, near the E39 highway to Stavanger, and plans installations at least at two more locations in the next two months.
